A Historic Maine Estate with Modern-Day Touches

Cunningham Farm (circa 1877) is set in picturesque New Gloucester, Maine - located just North of Portland in Southern Maine. Cunningham Farm is primarily used as a wedding venue for estate weddings, barn weddings, and outdoor weddings.

With 90+ acres of land that includes three event barns, a farmhouse, a pond, a river, a meandering brook, rock walls, and a tree farm - complete with a white farm fence - there couldn’t be a more beautiful property to serve as a backdrop to your "Maine" event!

Many people ask us why the Dairy Barn (c 1820) is older than the farm? The farm, purchased by John and Lucy Cunningham in 1877, was originally part of neighboring Intervale Farm. The previous owner, Wm. Widgery, had owned the land since 1797 and built the Dairy Barn. The Cunningham’s lived in his original house until they built the current farmhouse in 1887 further back from the road and on the opposite end of the barn. Fun Fact? While installing the entry arch sign at the head of the farm road you see today, we actually uncovered some of the original foundation and incorporated that granite on the property!

As current owners, we are dedicated to maintaining the historic presence of the land and buildings while carefully crafting modern-day touches into the structures.

Why Cunningham Farm? Instead of one wedding barn, we have three! We also host tented weddings and al fresco events. We provide a three-day rental to give you exclusive access to the one-of-a-kind property and allow you the opportunity to create a wedding that fits who you are as a couple.
