A Peek at Our Most Frequently Asked Questions

How many guests can I have at my cunningham farm wedding?

Because of our three barns and vast space, Cunningham Farm can accommodate weddings from as small as an elopement to whatever size tent will fit your guests! Our largest barn is 2880 sq. ft. and maxes out at 200 guests for a seated dinner. For a guest lists over 200, dinner in a tent adjoining a barn with dancing in the barn is a great option!

are tables and chairs included?

All rentals, including tables and chairs, are chosen by our couples and brought on site to match their vision for the day! For a 150-person wedding, table and chair rentals typically start around $450.

Cunningham Farm asks anyone renting the property to break down any rentals for pick-up by the rental company. We also require all trash, recycling, composting, etc., be removed. These services can often be provided by your caterer and/or coordinator - so ask! We require that any personal items or additional items brought on site (i.e. décor) be removed by 12:30pm the following day.

is there a space on the property to get ready?

Yes! We have a newly renovated room, called the Something Blue Suite, where parties can get ready right on site the day of their event. The Carriage Barn is also a popular spot to use as a pre-ceremony lounge area.

How long is the rental period?

We only book one wedding per weekend. The property is yours from 12:30pm-9:00pm the day before, 8:00am-10:30pm on your wedding day, and 8:00am-12:30pm the following day.

are there specific vendors we need to use?

Just like with rentals, we want our couples to mold the property to fit their dream wedding plans. There are no specific vendors a couple must use, but all vendors must be properly licensed and insured. We also ask that any vendors who have not been out to the farm schedule a time to walk the property with us so they are best prepared for your wedding day!

do you have restrooms?

We have a restroom that is included with the Something Blue Suite for parties to use while they get ready. Guest restrooms must be brought on site, allowing restrooms to be placed conveniently near your main reception area. The majority of our couples rent luxury restroom trailers. Each barn has a dedicated outdoor power and water supply to accommodate these units.

Are there sleeping accommodations on site?

Cunningham Farm does not offer overnight accommodations at this time. We are happy to help point our couples and their guests to a number of convenient options – from home rentals, lake houses, B&B’s, to brand hotels - located right in town, or close by in Freeport, Brunswick, and Portland.

Do you have on-site parking?

Yes! Introduce your guests to the property by bringing them down a tree-lined farm road looking above the pond. Our parking lot accommodates 80+ vehicles. We also have farm road access to the barns for easy rental drop-off and pick-up, as well as to allow for golf cart rentals if any guests need easier accessibility.

Can we supply beer, wine, and alcohol?

Couples are welcome to bring their own beer, wine, and alcohol on site. We do require host liquor liability insurance with your event insurance, and all alcohol must be served by a professional bartending service that has General Liability Insurance. Your caterer may also be licensed to provide this service, so make sure you check!

What basics are in all the barns?

Lighting, electricity, and water. While we welcome additional lighting to set the tone for your event, each barn is fully equipped with sufficient lighting that includes a wagon wheel chandelier in the Carriage Barn, four 8-light chandeliers in the Hay Barn, and three light fans with 10 vintage barn sconces in the Dairy Barn. Ample electricity for catering, band, additional light, etc., to all the barns (50-100 amps). Water hook-ups to each barn exterior.

Are there any items on site for us to use?

We do have a ceremony arbor, ceremony seating for 150 guests, and a 6-foot and a 10-foot herringbone aged-oak bar that couples are welcome to use!

Can we have our ceremony, rehearsal dinner, and/or farewell brunch on site?

Yes! We have great options for an outdoor ceremony or couples are welcome to utilize one of the barns. The barns also make an easy and beautiful back-up plan in inclement weather!

Rehearsal dinners or morning after brunches are also welcome, as long as the rental times are adhered to. Any additional meals served on site must use licensed and insured caterers/bartenders. Please keep in mind any additional clean-up or rentals that must be brought on site to accommodate these events.

Can Cunningham Farm also plan my wedding?

We do not offer planning services. We are, however, onsite for each event and more than happy to answer any and all questions we can for you or your hired professionals during both the planning and event itself!

We do require our couples to hire a Day-of-Coordinator to help make sure your day runs as smoothly as possible. Seamless, fun events are important to us, and we know an experienced wedding coordinator will help bring your vision to life while being a direct line of communication for your hired professionals throughout the evening.

How do we book Cunningham Farm?

We will send you a contract that lists your wedding weekend. We require a 50% non-refundable deposit and signed contract to hold your date. The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to your event. We also require event insurance with host liquor liability, which is easily purchased for under $200 from a provider like wedsafe.com.
